The recycling system in the US is broken. Our founder's moment for lauching BRIXY, was learning about how little plastic actually gets recycled, going through a shampoo bottle every few weeks, dropping it in the recycling bin, and knowing it likely won't be recycled.

This sinking feeling is what led us to create BRIXY and our mission to reduce single use plastic.

PLASTIC TAKES 400+ YEARS TO BREAK DOWN
Sadly, the vast majority of all plastic ever created still exists. There is an estimated 500m shampoo bottles that end up landfills each year or worse yet, the environment.

Science shows micro plastic are now present in human blood due to the amount of plastic used in the food and beverage industry.

With personal care, micro plastics that leach into your water-based products, are washing down the drain, entering our water supply and continuing to circulate. The solution is removing the need for plastic, and that's where BRIXY comes in (at least in the bathroom that is!).

ETHICALLY SOUND PACKAGING
We’re always thinking about how to do more with less. And that’s the approach when it comes to our packaging. We’ve talked a lot about what our packaging isn’t: plastic. But what do we use?

Our packaging is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paperboard, which means it comes from sustainable managed forests.

The material is also easily recyclable, home compostable and uses environmentally safe vegetable based inks. If it made it's way to a landfill, it would break down in a matter of weeks vs. the 400+ it would take plastic.

Since our launch in May 2022, BRIXY bars have replaced over 1 million plastic bottles and we're just getting started.
